The smoky, funk-fuelled “Stay Free” has great-galumphing rhythms, with Hughes achieving lower range chest tones than typical, to bring about a mirrorballed stadium-level rock number that assembles all the symmetrical clout and buzziness of Houses of the Holy era Led Zeppelin with the expressive rock ‘n’ roll attitude of 1970s Bad Company.
