The Leicester UK based trio KYTE have announced the release of their new album ‘Love To Be Lost’ – three years on from ‘Dead Waves’.

KYTE will be playing Camden on 30th May at The Black Heart for a special album launch show.

Formed by vocalist Nick Moon, guitar/keyboardist Tom Lowe and percussionist Scott Hislop, it’s been almost three years since KYTE’S third album, Dead Waves, was released in the UK.

Their new album ‘Love To Be Lost’ was written under the most intimate of conditions – over six months in Tom Lowe’s bedroom back in Leicestershire. Then produced by Seattle-based John Goodmanson (Death Cab For A Cutie and Blonde Redhead.)It was recorded at Robert Lang Studios (Seattle) – (where the last ever Nirvana sessions took place.)

We checked the lead track from the new album : ‘You & I’  – here’s what we thought:

Kyte_PhotoShoot_03Breathy swallows are set inside a giant echoing cave. The rhythms drip and pant like a damp dog on a frosty morning scamper.

The vocal is a frothy mesh of silk – transparent and soft – it clings dangerously to your fibre. And the sweet melody will wrap itself around your limbs to brush gently against cheek.

The song develops like a crystal garden in a hothouse, as sweet layers rise and rise towards a pastel baked horizon. Sentimental and sensual.
