The characteristically incomparable soulful blues-rock band XANDER AND THE PEACE PIRATES announce an extraordinary  new album, titled  “Order Out Of Chaos” due  6th May 2022.

The disc is precipitated by a super-propelling new single “Leave The Light On” reviewed below.

The Peace Pirates (formerly the Smoke Pockets) are celebrated as one of the most zesty, exhilarating and musically capable bands on the live circuit. The Merseyside outfit was formed by brothers Keith and Stu. After a five -year tenure at Liverpool’s internationally famous Cavern Club, they went on to support the likes of Joe Bonamassa, Joe Satriani, Manfred Mann’s Earth Band, The Temperance Movement, and ex-Whitesnake’s Bernie Marsden.

this has a sweet root of sentiment running right through it…

Scorning any negative prognostications about his ability to perform, the lead singer/lead guitarist Keith Xander was born without a right arm below the elbow. He plays guitar using a prosthesis with a hook and pick attached to the end. Yet he’s an extraordinarily accomplished guitarist, a virtuoso musician in his own right, with a distinctive technique that, certainly, rivals the best players in the industry.

Their new single is scrumptiously smooth, and (we think) redolent of early “On The Border” Eagles-style country rock with the tenderest of vocals, pineapple guitar, and lots of pepper brushed rhythms…

This has a sweet root of sentiment running right through it. The glossy nature of the number also brings to mind “Love Over Gold” (Dire Straits, 1982) with the same type of languid atmospherics. Yes, this is opulently tinged splendour!

File alongside: Poco, James Gang
