Beth Hart will headline the Blues Stage at Ramblin’ Man Fair, Maidstone, Kent this weekend, Sunday 21st July

We described the 2016 album “Fire On The Floor” as “deeply expressive” and offering a vocal range that “definitely wins comparisons with Sarah Vaughan and Dinah Washington …” The album included a bunch of immensely satisfying blues-rock numbers balanced with heartfelt tones of nostalgia. We named it our Contemporary Blues album of the year.

Since then, we have experienced several elegant, courageous and passionate concert performances, each one of them: “unforgettable…”

The new album brings closure to a frustrating chapter of unfinished business for Beth. The heavyweight producer Rob Cavallo (Green Day, My Chemical Romance, Dave Matthews Band, Goo Goo Dolls) was in the picture to mix the singer’s album “Leave The Light On” in 2003. “But the producer I was with at the time,” recounts Beth, “went ahead without my approval, turned the mix in to Rob – and he passed.”

Fast forward 15 years, and at a casual dinner attended by Cavallo, fate intervened. The host encouraged Beth to play her new songs: “After I’d played them,”  she remembers, “Rob came up and said, ‘You’ve grown a lot as a songwriter – and I want to record these songs with you’. And he turned out to be one of the coolest people that I’ve ever worked with.”

The album title track, “War In My Mind” (lyric video shared below) is a spine-tingling venture with characteristic pain-filled rawness held up for inspection in each crystal droplet of sound. There’s humbleness and connection here too. And, of course, Beth is the embodiment of passionate control… so you will ache to learn more yet yearn to become heartache free…

War In My Mind by Beth Hart will be released on September 27, 2019 Pre-order now.
