Rockers LIONS IN THE STREET release a spanking new single “Moving Along” on Friday 16 August 2024.
Moving Along is taken from the band’s upcoming album of the same name, due Friday 8th November.
By signing to —then subsequently severing ties with— TVT Records, Nickelback’s 604 Records, and renowned manager Allen Kovac, Lions in the Street (named after a 1973 book by Paul Hoffman) found themselves languishing on the music industry’s blacklist.
A bullyragging chug-fest […] with marauding slugs of groovy guitar…
Consequently, the Canadian / Californian band, consisting of Chris Kinnon on vocals & guitar, his brother Jeff Kinnon on drums, Sean Casey on guitar, and classically educated musician Enzo Figliuzzi on bass, endured years in the music-bizz darkest doldrums.
Despite facing hardships and many setbacks, LitS shone through, and have now found new audiences thanks to modern streaming platforms. Therefore, they are busy releasing previously unheard tracks as remixed and remastered editions.
The band’s forthcoming album, Moving Along, perfectly captures this superbrilliant band’s distinctive vivacity and undaunted confidence. The title track, mixed by Rick Parker (Beck, BRMC, Scott Weiland), is an unnerving, harmonica-driven temptation. It will also become the lead track in the upcoming Paramount film “Cassino In Ischia”, starring Prison Break’s Dominic Purcell.
The band are also completing a live album they made with multi-Grammy-Award winning producer Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Greta Van Fleet, etc.)
Moving Along (video shared below) is a relentlessly bullyragging chug-fest featuring pouting/petulant lead vocals (in the manner of Mick Jagger circa 1974) and slamming boogie-woogie piano. All this is backed by marauding slugs of groovy guitar. The whole thing feels like a raging galumptious superspeedway escapade!
