DUFF MCKAGAN has shared I Saw God On 10th St., the new single from his eagerly awaited third solo album, LIGHTHOUSE, arriving on Friday, October 20 2023. An official visualizer for the album has been revealed on YouTube.

Duff finally had the chance to “explore songs that I may have written the night before or some of those old riffs from years ago” when he opened his own recording studio in Seattle, 2019. He worked on a number of very personal new songs over the following two years with veteran producer and collaborator Martin Feveyear (Mark Lanegan, Brandi Carlile).
One of those songs was I Saw God On 10th St.,
“I picture him as an old guy with white beard and hair, leaning up against a wall on a city street,” explains Duff . “The ultimate jurist of us all. Pissed off, squinting eyes to ward off what he sees, spitting frequently with no care for who may be around. The Creator. God. Allah, Shiva…or whomever. I think I see him sometimes over on 10th St., hands in tight fists, and toes curled up and tense.”
The wonderfelt and acoustically strummed number is a slice of folkishly prophetic & stubbly punkish Bowie-trip yet it also sounds wondrously Stoogish in terms of expressiveness and temperament. Yes, this pleases a rationalist’s cockles!
Along with his prolific musical endeavours, Duff is also a New York Times best-selling author of It’s So Easy: And Other Lies and How to Be a Man: (And Other Illusions). He also co-hosts the much-appreciated Three Chords & The Truth radio show with Susan Holmes McKagan, which is broadcast in North America.
