The London-based British Blues Awards nominee and accomplished soul-bluesman MISSISSIPPI MACDONALD has announced a new albumDo Right, Say Right” due 19th November, 2021.

Blues is often misunderstood…” he says. “It’s not sad music – there’s great humour, great joy and there’s celebration. When the chips are down and it looks like you can’t go on, there’s always something – there’s always a little light shining through…”

There’s no heartbreak or bad luck that a horn section, a Hammond Organ and a few Albert King licks can’t cure. And that’s what this record is all about.”

On the first single to be taken from the album — titled “I Was Wrong” — Mississippi is joined by Phil Dearing (The Gillies, The Noun) on keyboards & guitar, Elliot Boughen (Soul Fixers) on bass guitar, Mark Johnson-Brown on drums, and Lucy Dearing (Cottonmouth Kings) on backing vox.

It’s a laid-back saunter with delectable cobalt blue guitar, chocolaty vocals and a fruity-fat overall sound that feels kinda spiritual as if we’re all “kneeling and praying” at Mississippi’s tabernacle for those dealing with ever-loving heartbreak.

I Was Wrong” is available to purchase now.
