J. D. Simo was raised in Chicago — in the shadow of Wrigley Field. He started playing guitar at the age of five and had formed a band and released a live EP by the age of fifteeen. In the winter of 2006 he moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where he established himself as a guitarist in the Don Kelley Band.
He then went on to form a blues-rock power trio SIMO — reminiscent of the style and swagger of 1960’s bands such as Cream — three super-talented young men innovatively merging the intelligence of jazz, the earthy energy of rock… and the sensitivity of blues — to create a consummate live show.
Over the past three years, the band has built a name for itself on the touring circuit by performing at music festivals including Mountain Jam, Warren Haynes Christmas Jam, and Bonnaroo.
Their album [Let Love Show the Way] promises to be game-changing. You can see the album trailer below [with UK dates.]
SIMO is virtuoso guitarist J.D. Simo, Frank Swart on bass, and Adam Abrashoff on drums.
