The London-based multi-talented musician LOGAN J PARKER has released her debut self-titled seven-track extended-play recorded in the world’s first fully solar-powered studio!
As a singer-songwriter, producer, guitarist, and pianist, her compositions are a blend of sixties blues, vintage soul and rock ‘n’ roll with a touch of contemporary refinement. Fiercely independent and a copyright owner, Logan is ready to take over the world and is a proud member of the musical arm of Extinction Rebellion.
The newest song in her impressive repertoire is the mild delight “Sweet Songs of Love” (premiered just before Christmas, video shared below) and it is a succulent and reverberating high: it comes with some magnificent cigar-box blues guitar and the kind of voice that is part quicklime and part honeymoon butterfly.
Imagine what a hummingbird caught by its wings in sticky varnish might sound like as it struggled to get away: (hint, exquisitely painful but so intricately mesmerizing you can’t pull away!)
Logan says, “‘Sweet Songs of Love’’ is a song I wrote two Christmasses ago for my then boyfriend who was away at the time. I found it really hard to cope with the many miles between us in such a special time of the year, so I wrote this song wishing it would somehow shorten the distance between us.”
