During the twirly summer of throwaway 2020 the phenomenal Elephunking pop-rap act BLACK EYED PEAS released their eighth full-length album.
Titled “Translation” it was largely a Latin-pop affair with guest deliveries from: Shakira, J Balvin, Ozuna, Maluma, Nicky Jam, Tyga, El Alfa, Piso 21, Becky G, and French Montana.
Though Fergie stepped back from the album to concentrate on motherhood (her oohs are provided by Rey Soul.)
The most recent single “VIDA LOCA” [feat. Nicky Jam & Tyga] comes with a new video (shared below).
Condensing the best squeezey bits from MC Hammer’s “U Can’t Touch This” and cribbling the remaining pulp through will.i.am’s jiggy strainer this becomes a (sort of) blazing version of Beyonce’s “Run the World” and is about as derivative as you can get. But who cares when something’s as marketable as this, Right?
So let’s all get down and do the Tio Choko!
“Four, tres, two, uno...” Jaja! Los amo.
