The Polish hard-rockers CHEMIA have announced the release of a new single titled “Modern Times” co-written and produced by multi-award-winning producer, guitarist and songwriter Andy Taylor, heretofore of Duran Duran and The Power Station.

The single has been recorded at London’s Baltic Studios this time last year. This led to the band heading straight back into the studio to record a collection of material with Andy, to be released later in the year, engineered by Darren Jones (Stormzy) and mastered at Abbey Road by Sean Magee.
Chemia guitarist “W” Wojtek Balczun says, “Working with Andy was a fantastic adventure and a great honor for all of us. We loved his work with both Duran Duran and The Power Station and his solo albums, especially ‘Thunder’…”
“So to have him co-write and produce our new album was an amazing experience and for all of us it was a dream come true. His attention to detail is second to none and we learned so much from working with him and we cannot wait for everyone to hear it.”
We had a listen to Modern Times:
The number begins with a brambly guitar and galumphs of barefaced stomp. The monstrous whomps dominate the entire piece, while the desiccated voice is leather ‘n’ sandalwood and the guitar is as dry as fossil in the badlands.

Chemia are scheduled to play Winterstorm and Monster Fest this coming November, as well other key events. The band were due to play alongside Skid Row this Summer but the dates have been postponed until 2021.
