Back in 2016 we wrote about ANI GLASS — the pop persona of Cardiff-based electronic musician — who is also artist and photographer, Ani Saunders, as well as being known for her work with The Pipettes.
We reported that her “Ddawns” was a heady mix of clapper-board rhythms which harnessed the pure nature of a heady voice.
Glass has spent the intervening years perfecting the art of recording & production. She says her sound is inspired by many leading electronic and avant-garde producers of the 1980s including Martin Rushent, Giorgio Moroder, Vangelis, Jean-Michel Jarre among others, with wider themes perhaps inspired by the works of abstract painter Agnes Martin.
Her new single, titled ‘Mirores‘ comes out on the January 17th 2020 and is taken from her forthcoming debut album (of the same name) to be released on 6th March via Recordiau Neb
The song represents the freeing sensation we have when we open ourselves to the external world; it brings a conjunction of sentiment and actuating spirit. Riding a fairly imperative beat, the altitudinous voice rides like a butterfly caught in a snowstorm. The chorus is an entangled knit of coalescence.
The single is out 17th January 2020.
