British roots slide guitarist and songsmith/vocalist MARTIN HARLEY has announced the release of a new album “Roll With The Punches” along with a string of live dates which includes an impressive headline concert at London’s Union Chapel. (dates below video)
The musician is the founder of The Martin Harley Band, a British blues trio, and he also performs solo as Martin Harley. He has been steadily developing a solo career in the U.S. with his first album “Mojo Fix” released in 2012.
Martin’s band are renowned for using obscure instrumentation in their live concerts, including a Weissenborn guitar, balalaika, cocktail drum-kit, cajon and double bass.
In 2005, Harley took part in what has been recognized by Guinness World Records as the ‘Highest Gig in the World‘ — playing his blues 21,000 feet up Kala Patthar in the Himalayas.
Title-song, “Roll With The Punches” twinkles like a buffalo moon, with spiritual vocals, traditional blues rhythms, short-cut guitar riffs and a rock ‘n’ roll chorus. This is a simple and sincere gift to roots lovers. Splendid.
