The multi-platinum New York scooby-snacking trio FUN LOVIN’ CRIMINALS release their album “Another Mimosa” today alongside visuals for lead single ‘Daylight‘ Ft Rowetta {see below]
Their first material since 2010, “Another Mimosa” is released to coincide wit their 20th anniversary year of the cult album ‘Mimosa’. It’s a variation on the theme of the 1999 album, which became a cult classic with Crims fans, featuring clever re-imaginings of classic covers, remixes and rarities.
Recorded in London’s Gibson Studios with life-long “fourth member”, the Grammy-award winning engineer Tim Latham (Hamilton soundtrack, A Tribe Called Quest, De le Soul, Lou Reed), ‘Another Mimosa’ is a collection of attractively crafted, eclectic ‘original covers’. From Tom Petty’s ‘Mary Janes Last Dance’ switched up with HipHop beats and a classic-rock influence, to the raw blues of Freddie King’s “Going Down’; Ice Cube’s classic “You Know How We Do It” and even and the grace of Neil Diamonds’ “Hello Again”
Check “Daylight” (Feat. Rowetta) below. It’s a mirthful & easy chatty-chatting slide of a song with a scrumptious fruity-bizutti bass, swanky R&B rhythms and the kind of funk ‘n’ soul sophistication that wouldn’t have been out of place on the streets of Philly circa 1975.
The “Another Mimosa” tour accompanies the album release, kicking off in Birmingham on the 31st January, and wrapping up in Leeds on the 31st March 2019. See dates below video.
